Freshmen Seminar in Global Health Studies at Kingsbury High School have been hard at work organizing a 5K/1 Mile run/walk event to take place October 21 in the heart of the Mitchell Heights community. Registration is now open here: https://racesonline.com/events/heights-line-5k
Race check-in will be in the Piranee and Nunnelee dentist office parking lot 752 National Street. There is plenty of street-side parking in the neighborhood on Tutwiler, Bowen, and Powell between Highland and Holmes.
Don't feel like running you say? Fear not. There are many other ways to participate; we still have some needs as follows:
- You can cheer on participants along the route or at one of the water stations along the route.
- You can volunteer to assist with setup or breakdown of route signs and/or water stations.
- You or a organization you belong to can volunteer to provide materials (tables, water coolers, cups, trash can, etc) for water stations or healthy snacks for participants.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help.
The start/finish of both events will be at the Heights Line demonstration on National Street. The Heights Line represents an exciting community effort to connect the Shelby Farms Greenline with the Wolf River Greenway through the Heights Neighborhood. National Street has abundant space to provide a nearly 2-mile stretch of dedicated pedestrian access. Find out more about the Heights Line here: https://www.heightsline.com
